Oh, Italy—Mangia bene!
Attention maestro foodies! Four lavish courses accompanied by choice wines are but a car ride away at the Hampton, New Hampshire, restaurant of Chez Boucher at 32 Depot Square. You will feel you have been transported to Italy after you finish this heavenly meal of Prosecco matched with smoked salmon, a lightly-battered cutlet with herb gnocchi balanced with Valpolicello, and Amaretto and macaroon biscotti Jello for dessert.
Olde Ipswich Tours of Ipswich, MA, has teamed with Chef Ron Boucher in hosting several specialty meals monthly at his restaurant throughout the year. On Fri., February 16, from 6-9 p.m. the menu will cover the finest food and wine paring of Italy’s northern lakes’ region. In addition, they both will operate a custom, private and culinary tour of Scotland this spring, June 7-16.
Chef Boucher is a 30-year, internationally-recognized executive chef whose food service experience includes his “World of Food and Culture” cooking classes here and abroad, and full-time faculty member at UNH’s Peter T. Paul School of Business and Economics. In 2003, he paired with Old Ipswich Tours to organize journeys to Italy and France, combining specialized tours with plentiful gastronomic opportunities. According to Chef, “These annual international food and wine tours reinvigorate my passion for cooking and inspire me to bring these experiential food variations back to the kitchen. . .”
This festa Italiana on Feb. 16 includes four courses with four pairings of appropriate wines in a setting that will transport you back to Italy, ambience included, all for $60. There are a few spaces still available but are going fast. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Chez Boucher at 603-926-2202.
