Our journey begins in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. After our guide gives us our bearings, we have enjoy tasting at Café ‘t Arendsnest, famous for its comprehensive selection of Dutch beers, followed by a delicious Dutch inspired welcome dinner.

Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands and home to some of the best art museums in the world, is a joy to experience. We have a full day to explore the city’s riches.

In the morning, we drive toward the Belgium border stopping for a special visit at a family-run cheese farm and one of the top breweries in the Netherlands for a tasting of their special beers and lunch. After lunch we continue to the charming city of Antwerp, where we have time to relax before a wonderful dinner in town.

Our day begins with a guided walking tour followed by some free time to delight in getting lost in its narrow alleys and beautifully ornate squares. In the evening we reconvene for a tour and tasting at the fabulous new visitor center at Brouwerij De Koninck, before being treated to a fabulous Michelin star dining experience.

After breakfast we take a short ride to Belgium’s capital city. Our visit begins by rolling up our sleeves in preparation for a chocolate making workshop followed by a guided beer and chocolate tasting. In the afternoon, we take a guided walking tour of Brussels. Having worked up an appetite, we stop at Poechenellekelder, a cosy pub decorated with puppets and marionettes, just across from the famous Manneken Pis statue and stocked with a large selection of Belgium’s best beers. The evening is yours to relax or explore.

An early start this morning places us in picturesque Ghent, criss-crossed by canals and waterways and overflowing with charm and atmosphere, in time for a pleasant boat trip through the cities beautiful canals. Our tour continues on foot with a visit to an artisanal chocolate shop, the old meat house and a local candy shop. Having been given a glimpse of the city, you will want to spend weeks exploring its treasures. So, after some free time to explore we visit Ghent’s Bierhuis for a drink before a lovely dinner in town. Your first evening in Ghent would not be complete without a taste of one of the many choices of flavored Jenever, a local specialty liquor, at ‘t Dreupelkot — a ‘must do’ while in Ghent.

Today we see some spectacular sites starting with Gravensteen Castle. We enjoy a beer tasting lunch at De Gentse stadsbrouwerij Gruut, known for their special beers made without hops using medieval recipes which are the result of years of research by owner and brewer Annick De Splenter. We then enjoy a walking tour stopping at Sint-Baafs Cathedral, with its famous polyptych, “The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” painted by the Van Eyck brothers, St Niklaas Church and the Belfort. At night we enjoy another delicious dinner in town.

Today we head toward the magical city of Bruges. On our way, we stop in Ypres and visit the In Flanders Fields Museum. Before lunch we continue to Westvleteren where we have the option of experiencing the monks’ Prayer Service at the Abbey Sint Sixtus. We then lunch at In de Vrede Café and sample what has been widely hailed as the world’s best beer, Westvleteren 12! Our hunger sated and our palates jumping for joy, we head over to Poperinge for a walk through the fascinating Hops Museum (of course Belgium has a museum dedicated to all things beer!) followed by a visit to the Talbot House. When we arrive in Bruges, we will dine at a favorite local spot known for its cuisine a la Bière.

Waking up in the fairy-tale city of Bruges, you will feel as if you have been whisked back in time. A guided walking tour will give us our bearings and help us work up our appetite. So, we sneak away down a tiny alley to the quaint De Garre cafe for their special house Tripel and homemade cheese! The rest of the day we will explore the city and regroup for a tour of Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan, where we will be treated to a gorgeous view of all of Bruges from the rooftop before heading to their tasting room for a taste of their delicious brews. Then it is off to a final epicurean evening together at our farewell dinner in Bruges.
