Olde Ipswich Tours manages Exploritas programs in the North of Boston area under the name New England Discoveries. Elderhostel Wins "World's Best" Award From Travel+Leisure
Elderhostel
has earned a prestigious "World's Best" award from Travel+Leisure
magazine. The Travel+Leisure 2001 World's Best Awards are featured
in the magazine's August issue, which highlights their well-traveled readers'
choices for the best in travel and transportation around the globe. Elderhostel
was cited as one of the top 20 organizations in the "Tour Operators and
Safari Outfitters" award category. The annual World's Best Awards are
based on responses by the magazine's subscribers. A questionnaire developed
by the magazine's editors was sent in spring 2001 to a random sample of
qualified subscribers asking their opinions of cities, hotels, tour operators,
airlines, cruiselines and other travel destinations and providers. When
the results were tallied, Elderhostel was among the top picks by readers
for an outstanding travel experience. Elderhostel was the only not-for-profit
organization in the top 20.
