About Us

John and Jean Moss began Olde Ipswich Tours 14 years ago, motivated by their love of travel, history and fine culinary experiences. They are proud of the detailed, and carefully planned itineraries that have offered so many clients unique travel experiences over the years.

These escorted, small tours (groups of 8 to 16) are designed to offer an intimate, quality experience of our favorite regions of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, England, Ireland and our own New England. Currently, we are in the planning stages of several new tours in Central Europe and Chile to add to our offerings of skillfully created tours for our loyal friends and customers.

Jean Moss has a Masters degree in French earned at the University of Paris. She has lived in Paris, Normandy and Cuernavaca, Mexico. She used to teach French, and likes to pretend that she still does! She is fluent in French and Spanish. She earned her certificate from the International Tour management Institute in San Francisco and began leading tours in 1995. She is passionate about travel, history, fine wine and great food and is an extraordinary tour guide.

John Moss is a practicing lawyer in Cambridge and Boston and believes that lawyers can have fun too. He loves Jean, travel and wine (in that order?). He thinks of himself as a spiritual descendant of Rabelais, and although his French leaves something to be desired, he has a great sense of direction.

IN THE OFFICE...

Nicholas Caccese, a graduate student in Philosophy and Theology, has been working with Jean since 2005. A jack of all trades he is, most certainly, a master of none - helping out with accounting, database management, website design and maintenance, tour planning and arrangements. He also somehow managed to gain responsibility for all technological problems in the office. He and his wife, Jessica, spend most of their free time staring in amazement at their newborn daughter.

Barbara Breaker is a Boston native who started her business career in Los Angeles with an international design company. After many years of California dreaming, she returned with her family to her roots, residing in historic Rowley and has since found the travel bug once again. Contributing her resourcefulness, customer service and creative skills, her efforts are directed towards sales and marketing, and she hopes to join Jean on a tour from time to time.
